If someone is under the age of 18, Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking (DMST) is defined as "the exchange for anything of value for a sexual act"

How bad is this problem?

Very bad. Here are some facts on Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking (DMST).

  • Victims are mostly lured in not snatch or grabbed
  • It does not just happen to economically disadvantaged kids
  • 1 in 3 kids that runaway will be approached by a trafficker within 48 hrs of leaving home
  • Human Trafficking is the Fastest growing illegal industry in the world
  • 99% of victims are never rescued
  • Average age that girls are lured in is 12-13 yrs
  • Average for Boys 9-11 yrs
  • Average Life Expectancy is 7 years
